Ed "Curly" Evans

Ed "Curly" Evans, 64, of Canyon, passed away on January 19, 2022 in Amarillo.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 24, 2022 at First Baptist Church of White Deer with Pastor Alan Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in White Deer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Ed was born October 25, 1957 in Pampa to Brian and Nita Evans. He graduated from White Deer High School in 1975 and went on to graduate from West Texas State University in 1979. Ed married Diana Downey on September 16, 1988. He has been a farmer and rancher his whole life in Carson, Armstrong, and Gray Counties. He was a longtime and past president of the White Deer Cemetery Association. Ed also served on the White Deer Rodeo Association. Ed was a wonderful caretaker, he helped take care of his grandparents and his parents. He always had a smile and loved to help others. Ed enjoyed tooling leather and he also collected bits and spurs.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, George Borden; and a great nephew, Corin Blake.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Evans of the home; a stepson, Terry L. Chandler, II of Amarillo; He was known as " Curly" to his 2 beautiful granddaughters, Kambree Chandler and Xaylee Chandler; 2 sisters, Deborah Borden of Clovis, NM and Nancy Blake and husband Bob of San Antonio; 5 nieces, Candice Weaver and husband Chad of Lazbuddie, Kimberly Davy and husband Justin of Galveston, Kristen Chastine and husband Parquer of Las Cruces, NM, and Cynthia Bernal and husband Ross of San Antonio, Kila Williams and husband Travis of Roswell, NM; nephew, Brian Blake and wife Aimee of Florence; aunt, Carolyn Carpenter of Plainview; mother-in-law, Louise Hare of Roswell, NM; sister-in-law, Kim Mathews and husband Mike of Roswell, NM; 2 brothers-in-law, Ronnie Downey of Roswell, NM and Rod Downey and wife Michelle of Colorado; and numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews.
