Carlos Vasquez

Carlos Vasquez, 82, of Pampa, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 surrounded by his family at his home.

Vigil will be at 6:00 PM on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Guadalupe Mayorga, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Carlos was born on June 24, 1942 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Francisco Vasquez, Sr. and Leonor Herrera Vasquez. He married Maria Vasquez in 1965. In 1990, Carlos and Maria moved to their family to Pampa. He worked for several years before retiring in 2004 after some health issues. Carlos was a member at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching TV, traveling to Mexico, and spending time with his family.

Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Vasquez, Sr. and Leonor Vasquez; and three sisters, Elva Corroles, Alicia Mendoza, and Manuella Vasquez.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maria Vasquez; six children, Luis Vasquez and wife Edelmira, Carmen Mendoza and husband Eduardo, Olga Vasquez, Angelica Salazar and husband Javier, Blanca Jimenez and husband Andres, and Carlos Vasquez, Jr. and wife Suzanna; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Socorro Vasquez and Hilda Soria; and one brother, Francisco Vasquez, Jr.
