Carolyn Copeland, 84, of Pampa, passed away November 7, 2017 in Pampa. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Buck of Redeemer Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Copeland was born August 2, 1933 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Glenn and Louise Acord. Carolyn was raised and attended school in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She played tennis and was active in their pep squad, the Chickasha Chickettes. She met the love of her life, Dean Copeland, in college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. They married April 28, 1953 in Chickasha. He preceded her in death July 12, 2013, after 60 years of marriage. In the mid 60’s Carolyn and Dean moved to Pampa where they resided ever since. Carolyn owned and operated Collector’s Corner Antique Shop and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a very active member of the Friends of the Library at Lovett Memorial Library. She liked to play bridge and her true passion was collecting antiques. Carolyn will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the nursing staff at Interim Hospice and to the nurses and staff at Pampa Nursing Home for all of their loving care for Carolyn. Survivors include two daughters, Neysa Brown and husband Joe of Pampa, and Nan Rivera and husband Arcadio of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Erik Brown and Brooke Mooney and husband Aidan, all of Pampa, Hannah Rivera of Amarillo, and Adam Rivera of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and three great grandchildren, Taylor Autry, Madison Mooney and Cameron Mooney. Carolyn was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Copeland on March 6, 2016. Memorials can be made to the Khiva Shriners, 305 SE 5th Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79101. The family will receive friends on Wednesday November, 8, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
