Carrole Ann Scott, 87, of Pampa, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rick Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Carrole was born on December 6, 1937, in Skellytown to George and Jessamine DeMoss. She attended and graduated from high school in Pampa, shortly after school she married the love of her life Charles Robert “Bob” Scott on December 11, 1955. Bob and Carrole settled down in Pampa and began their family, having two sons that Carrole adored above anything else. She would become heavily involved at the Fellowship Baptist Church where she was a beloved pianist for many years.
Carrole held many jobs throughout her life. Most notably as a secretary for Flint Corp. in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and as an administrative assistant with the Zachry Group in Borger. In Carrole’s spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, cooking, and especially baking. She was a tremendous cook and made the best mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie for every holiday. She made a point of making each grandchild and great-grandchild their birthday cake. Carrole was a kind and loving woman, but would put you in your place if she felt you were getting out of line. She was a tough woman who fought multiple types of Cancer throughout her life and survived them all. Carrole lived life on her terms, and we were all along for the ride.
Carrole loved her family fiercely. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. If you stayed the night at Gran’s house, you always had something to do. If she took you out to eat, you got to order off the adult menu. If you weren’t old enough to drive, she would pull off on a secluded road and let you drive anyway. When slugs infested her flowers, she showed Shay and I how to dehydrate them with salt. It was gross, but so very cool. If you wanted to play her piano, you got to play as loud and as long as you wanted to. It didn’t matter if you knew how to play, she liked the noise. Parents may have told us no, but Gran never did. If you were with Gran, you were loved. She drove like she was in a NASCAR race, but that just added to the excitement. She took shots at Christmas and was always up for a good time. Gran was always fun, and she will be missed by all that loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Wylie Martin “Marty” Scott, and Charles Randy “Charlie” Scott; two sisters, Dorothy Pearson, and June Lane; and a brother, Wylie DeMoss.
Carrole is survived by a Daughter-in-law, Melinda Scott; Grandchildren, Brandon Scott and wife Beth of Pampa, and Cassi Shephard and husband Jon of Pampa; nine Great-Grandchildren, Bailie, Emily, Abby, Jaryn, Alli, Coen, Owen, Kai, and Sawyer; and four Great-Great-Grandchildren, Dylan, Spencer, Evan, and Marshall.
