Cecil Gill, 91, of Miami passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Amarillo.
Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, November 18, 2018 at First Christian Church of Miami with Rev. Richard Royal, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mr. Gill was born October 26, 1927 in Miami to James and Etta Gill. He had been a lifelong resident of Miami and was a 1947 graduate of Miami High School. Cecil married Marie Webb on September 4, 1948 in Miami and she preceded him in death on March 28, 2013. Cecil worked at Roberta’s Flowers in Pampa for over 46 years, retiring in August 2001. He also owned ranchland and ran cattle for many years around Miami. Cecil was a member of First Christian Church of Miami, where he served as an elder. He was the historical chairman of Robert’s County Museum, and a charter member of Miami Lions Club. He received the Community Builder Award in 1993 and in 2012 he received the Outstanding Service Award. Cecil loved the outdoors, spending time gardening, and traveling.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Gill; two grandsons, Shawn Kincannon and Tyree Williams.
Survivors include his two daughters; Kay Swart and husband Ron of Miami, and Rita Gill of Kerrville; son, Mark Gill of Canadian; nine grandchildren, Bryan Kincannon, Tim Kincannon, Marshall Gill, Tiffany Whiteside, Ashley Sharp, Alan Gill, Matthew Gill, Crystal Denton, and Cara Hodges; 13 great grandchildren, Mackenzy Milburn, Tristen Douglass, Conner Douglass, Rayven Gill, Troy Gill, Makyla Hodges, Keagan Kincannon, Quinley Kincannon, Konrad Kincannon, Kenzie Kincannon, McKenna Jones, Payton Jones, and Cassidy Jones; one great-great grandchild, Sutton Morrison; and special caregiver, Cindi Hale.
