Charles Neil Powell, 86, of Pampa, passed away January 15, 2018 in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Powell, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mr. Powell was born September 27, 1931 in Quail to Jessie Lee Powell and Bessie Lou Nicholas Powell. He married Shirley Lee Allison on April 21, 1951 in Borger. Charles worked at Borger Printers and Plains Printing before opening his own business, Hi Plains Printing in Pampa. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Charles was a kind and gentle man and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Powell of the home; a daughter, Vickie Morton and husband Rudy of Amarillo; a son, Tommy Powell of Borger; a sister, Bettye Hopper; five grandchildren, Christina McGeorge and husband Roland of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jeremy Powell and wife Felicia of Clarendon, Shawna Hennig and husband Billy of Kelton, Marc Maule of Slaton, and Dustin Powell of Borger; and six great-grandchildren, Chantelle Hampton, Charmayne Hampton, Cheyenne Powell, Jacob Maule, Brett Hennig and Stacey Hennig.
