Charles Jack Seals

Charles Jack Seals, 93, passed away Saturday March 4, 2018 in Amarillo

Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rick Pearson, officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

He was born on September 15, 1924 to Charley and Annis Seals in Louann, AR. He joined the US Marines in 1943 serving overseas in Japan.   He was discharged in 1946. Jack moved to Pampa in 1949 from Lefors and worked for Texaco. He retired after 30 years of service as a District Oil Production Manager. Jack was also an operator at Celanese for 10 years, retiring in 1995. Jack’s real passion was being a farmer. He worked the land North of Pampa most of his adult life. Jack was also good with computers. He would acquire, fix and give them away to anyone who needed one.

Jack married Joyce Romines on May 28, 1982 in Pampa. He was a member of Top O’ Texas Masonic Lodge #1381 and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mr. Seals was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Byrd in 2017; two daughters, Judy Johnson in 1976 and Janis Saunders in 1997; a brother, Melvin Dee Seals; and a sister Betty Jean Gifford.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce of the home; two sons, Mackal Smith and wife Cynthia of St. Louis, MO, Brian Smith of Rolla, MO; 5 grandchildren, Julie Cummings and her husband Cory, Elliot Smith and wife Paige, Brandon Smith and wife Hannah, Chelsea Smith, and Amanda Twenter and husband Jason; three great-granddaughters, Alexandra Harvick, Taylor Harvick and Jessica Harvick.

Memorials may be made to the Thomas E. Creek Veterans Hospital, 6010 Amarillo Blvd. West, Amarillo, TX 79106.

The family will receive friends at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors, Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
