Charles Eric Wood

Charles Eric Wood, 36, of Ness City, Kansas, and formerly of Pampa, Texas, died September 8, 2017 in Hays, Kansas. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, Texas, with Brother Phillip Gellenbeck, pastor of the Church of God in Guthrie, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.Mr. Wood was born November 25, 1980 in Pampa where he attended school. He had been a resident of Ness City, Kansas for the past year, and a former Pampa resident. While in Pampa, he was a cook for Pizza Hut. Charles enjoyed music and video games. He loved all sports, including the Philadelphia Eagles, all Texas teams (except for the Dallas Cowboys,) and NASCAR Jimmie Johnson. He was so handy and so good at fixing things, or making them better. Charles will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his longtime caregiver and companion, Kassie Kotara of the home; three sons, Dustin Sean Wood, Aiden Charles Wood, and Evan Jerry “E. J.” Wood; three daughters, Elaineah Nicole Jackson, Elizabeth Larie Kotara, and Paisley Louise Kotara; his mother, Elizabeth Jan Wood; his father, William “Bill” Wood; three brothers, Michael Wood, Daniel Wood and wife Lezlea, and Chris Wood; two sisters, Angela Carver and husband Thomas and Kristina Wood; his dearest friend (brother) Schuyler Danner; lifelong friend, Becca Jackson; special friends, Misty Moman Powell and Yesenia Gomez; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.
