Charley Sissom, 90, of Pampa, passed away, August 20, 2020 in Amarillo.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Charley was born on April 30, 1930 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Oma and Edward Sissom. In 1958 he married the love of his life, Anna Hughes on December 19, 1958 in Clayton, NM. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Pampa and they have remained ever since. Charley found work with Panhandle Packing early on and later went to work for Ingersoll Rand working in maintenance and retired after 27 years. Mr. Sissom was a Baptist and attended and had memberships at Calvary, Barrett, and Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Charley’s biggest priority was his family and he was very attentive to his wife and her needs. Charley will be remembered as loving and generous man who would always help others and put them before himself. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward Sissom and Leroy Sissom; and by a sister, Ann Brooks.
His survivors include his wife, Anna of the home; a daughter, Lesi Potter and husband Kevin of Dumas; a granddaughter, Melanie Yandell and husband Phillip of Shattuck, Oklahoma; two great-granddaughters, Piper Yandell and Harper Yandell, both of Shattuck, Oklahoma; four sisters, Darlo Pebley of Cameron Park, CA, Alma Freudenrich of Pampa, Sue Ruffin of Grand Prairie, and Wanda Parker and husband Richard of Highland Park; two brothers, Carl Sissom of McLean and Ray Sissom of Pampa; and other extended family.
