Charlotte Hogan, 85, of Pampa, passed away November 25, 2017 in Pampa. Celebration of Life graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Mike Watson of Hobart Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Services are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Charlotte was born on June 24, 1932 in Whittenburg, Texas. As a young girl her family settled in the Laketon area where she was raised and she attended school in Mobeetie. During high school she would meet and then later marry the love of her life, Ed Hogan in Wichita Falls and they would enjoy 69 wonderful years of marriage. After being married, they briefly lived in Wichita Falls before moving to Pampa in 1951 where they would reside ever since. In her younger years, Charlotte worked in retail for Robert’s Shoes and M.E. Moses. She was a socially active lady who was a member of the Easter Star and Daughters of the Nile. Mrs. Hogan was a long time member of Hobart Baptist Church. Charlotte started and participated in the first cancer awareness group in Pampa and was an avid and accomplished horseperson. She never lost her love of horses. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Leona and Buster B. Hayes, her daughter, Judy Cathleen Varney. Survivors include her husband of the home, Ed Hogan; by her son, Mike Hogan and wife Shelley of Friday Harbor, WA; her two granddaughters, Alichia Samano and husband Silver of Amarillo and Heather Szumierz of Peculiar, Missouri; by her six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
