Sue Smith, 85, of Pampa passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at her home.
Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 13, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Arrangement and Cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Ms. Smith was born September 1, 1935 in Borger to Clifford and Fannie Roberts Coleman. Sue graduated from White Deer High School in 1953. She was a bank teller at Citizens Bank and First National Bank retiring in 1974 after 21.5 years. Sue worked as a school secretary at Lamar Elementary School and Pampa High School. She retired in 2002 after 26 years of service. Sue volunteered at Meals on Wheels, Pampa Senior Citizens, Good Sam House and the prayer room at First Baptist Church. She was known for baking pies, cakes, and cookies and everyone loved her deviled eggs. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Hank Coleman, Ross Coleman, and Charley Coleman.
Sue is survived by three sons, Steve Smith of Pampa, Terry Smith and wife Liz of Amarillo and Chris Smith of Pampa; a daughter Julie Collins and husband Bruce of Amarillo; two sisters-in-law, Frances Coleman of Pampa and Carolyn Coleman Arnold of Midland; 7 grandchildren, April Ward and husband Dane, Adam Rodgers, Andy Rodgers and wife Alexus Garcia, Matthew Collins, Alex Collins and wife Ashley, Riordan Hill and Nathan Smith; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 302 East Foster, Pampa, Texas 79065 or the Prayer Ministry at First Baptist Church, 203 North West Street, Pampa, Texas 79065.
Yellow was Sue's favorite color; therefore, the family is asking everyone to wear yellow to the service to honor her.
