Chleo I. Armstrong Worley, 90, of Pampa, died Saturday July 1, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at First Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM Wednesday at Edith Ford Cemetery in Canadian. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Worley was born on Jan. 13, 1927 in Panhandle to John and Clara Patton Armstrong. As a young girl, she attended schools in Cushing, Oklahoma and Canadian where she graduated from Canadian High School. She later met Walter “Buck” Worley, and they wed on April 7, 1946 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2012. Chleo lived in Canadian for several years before she and her family moved to Pampa in the early 1950’s. She worked as a secretary for Cabot Corporation for over 20 years before retiring. Chleo stayed active managing Home Builder’s Supply and assisting Buck with Elco Glass. Chleo was an active, longtime member of First Christian Church where she served as a deacon and taught Sunday school classes. Chleo was active in Altrusa Club serving 2 terms as president. Chleo was an active supporter of Pampa’s Tralee Crisis Center, a member of Twentieth Century Study Club and a supporter of the Confederate Air Force. Survivors include her son, Chuck Worley and wife Kay of Carlsbad, California; two granddaughters, Angela Worley of Columbus, Ohio and Megan Krugman and husband Major Doug Krugman of Oceanside, California; two great granddaughters, Lena Krugman and Juliet Krugman, both of Oceanside; and three nephews, Russell Worley of Amarillo, David Armstrong and wife Pat of Butte, Montana, and Harley Armstrong and wife Jackie of Denver, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Pampa, the Tralee Crisis Center, 308 S. Cuyler, Pampa, TX 79065 or a favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Monday, July 3, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
