Chris Russell, 33, of Miami, and formerly of Pampa, passed away on March 29, 2023 in Miami.
Celebration of life memorial services will be 12:00 PM, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the First Assembly of God with Rev. Greg Ambroson, the Executive Director of Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas, officiating, and Pastor Cody Joplin, an associate pastor at Victory Christian Center of Azle, assisting. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Chris was born on September 17, 1989 in Pampa to Kelly Russell and Tamra Smith. Chris for most of his childhood was raised and went to school in Pampa. He moved to Lake Dallas for a period of time, and he graduated from Lake Dallas High School. After graduating high school, he entered the Electrical industry and returned to Pampa. Chris was a talented man who excelled as an electrician, and he worked for Russell Electric and as a lineman for AT&T and Resound.
Chris was not just talented in his industry; he was also a gifted musician. His love for music and performing with his late brother, Cody brought him immense joy. Right before Chris’ passing, he recorded a beautiful song in Cody’s memory. Outside of work and music he had a great love for all his family, especially for his daughter, Isabella Grayce. Chris will be remembered as a loving dad, son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and he will be greatly missed by all that loved him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Cody Russell; maternal grandfather, Gary Jan Smith; and by his paternal grandparents, J.Q. and Helen Russell.
Chris’ survivors include his daughter, Isabella Grayce Russell of Amarillo; mother, Tamra Smith of Pampa; father, Kelly Russell and wife Theresa of Weatherford; maternal grandmother, Edna Smith of Pampa; two brothers, Garrett Griffith and Landon Griffith, both of Pampa; a stepsister, Stephanie Hunt and husband Jerrod of Abilene: a stepbrother, Jake Fincher and wife Caitlin of Weatherford; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family.
