Christy Anne Hoganson, 73, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at her home.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Deacon Mark McVay, of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Inurnment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Christy was born December 25, 1945 in Estherville, Iowa to Maurice and Doris Boggess. She graduated from Estherville High School and went on to attend business college in Minnesota. On April 20, 1968 she married Harlan Hoganson in Estherville, he passed away on September 18, 2009. In 1973, they made their home in Pampa. She began working for Gray County Tax Assessor in the mid 70’s until she decided to be self-employed. Christy has painted inside of homes and businesses and hung wallpaper in Pampa for many years until she fully retired in 2014. Some of Christy’s hobbies included playing solitaire on her phone, working crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles, reading, and Facebooking. She would spend a lot of time playing games and watching videos on Facebook. Christy loved watching Live PD on tv and any show about Alaska. She loved her family dearly and was a special grandma to her grandchildren, and very rarely missed any of their events. She instilled in her children the importance of family time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Maurice Woodrow Boggess, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Holly Hoganson and Katie of Amarillo; two sons, Chris Hoganson and wife Tara and Matt Hoganson and wife Revelle all of Pampa; five sisters, Leslie Umsheid and husband Don of Kenosha, WI, Katy Johnson and husband Gerry of Spencer, IA, Holly Lair and husband Tracy of North Liberty, IA, Mary Moorman and husband Mark of Wallingford, IA, Margaret Evans and husband Tom of Estherville, IA; two brothers, Jim Boggess and Rick of Omaha, NE, and Tom Boggess and wife Jenny of Estherville, IA; a sister in law, Diane Lampkin and husband Doug of Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren, Avery Hoganson, Gage Hoganson, Jaxon Hoganson, Jacqulyn Mosley, Kayla Mosley, and Kollin Mosley and wife Jocelyn; two great grandchildren, Lawton Mosley and Marlee Mosley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Interim Hospice for their loving care of Christy.
