Cissy Rene Penny

Cissy Rene Penny, 50, of Pampa, and formerly of Austin, passed away on May 21, 2021 at home with family by her side.

Services will be announced at a later date. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Cissy was born on March 22, 1971 in Dallas to Beverly and Thomas Helsley. She grew up and attended school in Dallas. Cissy later moved to Austin and that is where she met the love of her life, Vernon Penny and they later married on January 12, 2007 in Round Rock. She and Vernon got tired of the busy life of Austin and moved to Pampa in 2010, residing ever since. Being a wife and mother was the most important thing to her, so she found enjoyment staying at home to care for the family. Cissy was full of energy and had varied interests and she was capable of bringing the whole family into her newfound hobby. However, the most important thing to her was her family and she will be greatly missed by all.

Cissy’s survivors include her husband, Vernon Penny of the home; three daughters, Megan Sanford and Alexas Cofer, both of Sanger, and Elaina Penny of Pampa; three sons, Michael Sanford of Sanger, Jaedon Penny of Pampa, and Kane Penny of Austin; four grandchildren; her parents, Beverly and Thomas Helsley of Arizona; a brother, Dean Helsley of Arizona; and other extended family.
