Clarice L Mills, 92, of Pampa, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023 in Pampa.
Services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Plainville, Kansas with Rev. Todd Bohrer, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Clarice was born on March 13, 1931 in Stratton, Colorado to Clarence Leroy Bush and Edna Evelyn Reese Bush Kern. She married Bill Mills on April 8, 1974. Clarice moved to Pampa in 2008 to be closer to her family. In Clarice’s younger years, she was an avid bowler and was very active in her church. She was a lifelong Baptist. Clarice served as church treasurer for several years. She also served on many food committees and helped plan for many church events.
As Clarice got older her favorite past time became watching TV. She loved to watch Tiger Woods play golf. Clarice lived through many hardships and always persevered. She will be remembered as a strong, independent woman.
Clarice’s family would like to extend special thanks to the Meredith Court staff and Interim Hospice staff for their loving care.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Mills; her father, Clarence Leroy Bush; her mother and stepfather, Edna Evelyn Kern and Norbert Kern; three siblings, Fern Desair, Henry Kern, and Robert Kern; daughter, Pat Daniels; son, Mike Thompson; and stepson, Mike Mills.
Clarice is survived by her daughter, Debbie Knipp and husband Ron; stepdaughter, Wilda Young; stepson, Rusty Mills and wife Connie; son-in-law, Fred Daniels; daughter-in-law, Peggy Thompson; seven grandchildren, Jared Knipp and wife Patti, Ashley Hogatt and husband Breck, Michael Daniels and wife Heidi, Joy Banfield and husband Jeff, Josh Hoover, Braydon Hoover, and Shylie Hoover; 14 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members.
