Corey Coon, 46, of Round Rock and formerly of Pampa and Amarillo, passed away on February 14, 2018 in Austin. Celebration of life memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa, with Rev. Mark Lang, rector, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the care of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Corey was born on March 7, 1971 in Pampa to Doug and Georgia Coon. He grew up and attended school in Pampa, and participated in many school activities, including performing with the school choir, and playing the role of the school's mascot. After graduating high school in 1990, Corey attended West Texas State University before joining the cast from the production of Texas, where he played the memorable role of Tucker Yeldel. He currently lived in Round Rock, and worked for Salt Traders Restaurant. Throughout his life, Corey loved to entertain. He loved to sing, whether he was in church or in a rock band with his brother. It was his passion. Corey loved the Dallas Cowboys, Larry Bird, and the band KISS. He made a shining impression on every person he ever met. He will be missed by many friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, Doug, in 1992. He leaves behind his mother, Georgia Allen and husband Terry of Amarillo; his brother Michael Coon of Amarillo; his sister Lisa McIntire of Amarillo; his nephew Hayden McIntire of Lubbock; his niece Bella of Amarillo; and his beloved dog, Dolly.
