Dannie Beth Prock

Dannie Beth Prock, 70, passed away on March 20, 2023, in Amarillo

Services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, March 24, 2023 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Pampa with Rev. Rick Parnell, a retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory in Pampa.

Dannie will be available for viewing from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Dannie Beth Prock was born March 2, 1953 to William (Bill) and Jo B. Prock in Pampa, TX.  Many hours were spent playing model cars with her best friend, Ronald Love, under an old elm tree.  She graduated from Pampa High School in 1971.  While in high school and college, she and her family would go to Cabot Ranch near Stonewall, Colorado to fish and relax. 

Dannie graduated from West Texas State University in 1975.  She taught one year at Alanreed, TX teaching 4th – 8th grades.  Following, she got a wonderful teaching job at Baker Elementary in Pampa.  Dannie taught first grade most of the time along with learning disabilities. After Baker closed, she taught first grade at Travis Elementary, also in Pampa.  During her 30 years of teaching, Dannie loved her students as her own kids.

Dannie had a wonderful giving, sweet, heart and always wanted to help others.  She retired in 2008 and she and her parents built a house in Timbercreek Canyon between Amarillo and Canyon where they loved to watch and care for the wildlife. Dannie had wonderful friends and a church family. Some of her friends were childhood friend Ron Love, Chris House and family, Julie Danielson, Bonnie Cantor, all of Amarillo, and a cousin, Gene Johnson of Canyon, Janie Prock McPeak of Camarillo, CA, Jeanie Prock Carden of Winchester, Virginia,  and Joyce Prock Tuggle of Belton.

Dannie was preceded in death by her parents.
