Darrell Lee Danner, Jr., 63, of Pampa, passed away June 11, 2018 in Pampa.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 15, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church, with Monty Joiner of Somerville Church of Christ and Rev. Clover Bailey, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Darrell was born December 26, 1954 in Pampa and graduated from Pampa High School in 1974. He married Dixie J. Bond and they were married for 41 years. During their marriage, they spent two years in Roswell, New Mexico and four years in Lovington, New Mexico, before returning to Pampa in 1988.
Darrell worked for Celanese for 13 years prior to attending Amarillo College, where he earned his Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technologies. He began his career with Eagle Rock Energy in 2006 and retired with Energy Transfer in 2017.
Darrell was a talented musician and played in many bands with his wife, Dixie, through the years. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, softball, and Coors Light. He spent time coaching his sons’ baseball teams was an avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboy fan. Most of all, he loved being with his family and watching his grandchildren play their sports.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie Danner of the home; a daughter, Holly Welch and husband Keith of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sons, Casey Danner and wife Layci of Amarillo, and Schuyler Danner and wife Jennifer of Pampa; a sister, Tammy Danner Hill of Pampa; a brother, Monty Danner of Houston; seven granddaughters, Devon Welch of Albuquerque, Alee Danner and Alyx Danner, both of Amarillo, Kenzie Danner, and Kaylea Perez, both of Sweetwater, and Ashlen Shorter and Zia Martinez, both of Pampa; and five grandsons, Aaron McKinney-Danner of Lubbock, Connor Welch of Albuquerque, Westlyn Danner and Ethan Shorter, both of Pampa, and Kaiden Perez of Sweetwater. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Helen Danner; a brother, Terry Danner, and a granddaughter, Saylor Kayte Danner.
