Dearol Whitson, 73, of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in Pampa.
No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Dearol was born on October 4, 1948 in Pampa to Elmer and Juanita Whitson. During his childhood, he attended schools in Pampa. After high school, he went to the Army to serve in Vietnam. He served there for just over two years. When he came back to the US, Dearol worked as a truck driver. He worked for several different trucking companies but was employed the longest for Frank Johnson Trucking. While on the road or relaxing at home, Dearol loved listening to music, especially rock and roll. After thirty years, he retired from Frank Johnson’s Trucking and enjoyed his time at home.
Dearol is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; one brother, Jesse Whitson; and brother-in-law, Jackie Graham.
Survivors include his son, Elmer Whitson and wife April of Amarillo; two sisters, Charlotte Graham of Pampa and Sandra Faziola and husband Joey of Canyon; one brother, Allen Whitson and fiancée Leigh Ann Jeffers of Pampa; four granddaughters, Terri Burr, Savannah Knoblauch, Jacqueline Trujillo, and Chandra Jackson; one grandson, Jeremy Whitson of Amarillo; and special friends, John and Debbie Dunlap of Bowie.
The family would like to thank Pampa Nursing Center and the wonderful staff that cared for Dearol during his time there.
