Debra was born on February 25, 1958 in Denver, Colorado to Robert Frank Dunlap and Shirley Jean Anderson Dunlap. She was raised in Denver and attended Green Mountain High School. Debra started her family after high school and became a stay-at-home mom. She moved to Amarillo to be closer to her brother. She married Floyd Tabor, Jr. and became a bonus mom to his daughter, Chrystal. They later welcomed their son, Zech, to the world and their family was complete. Even though Debra and Floyd would later part ways they remained good friends. Debra worked in the restaurant industry in Amarillo for many years until her health no longer allowed her to.
Debra loved music and was a big fan of The Beatles, especially The White Album, and Janis Joplin. She had a big heart and cared deeply for others. Debra was a wonderful cook and always had enough to feed anyone that walked through her door. Debra enjoyed lazy days fishing with her family, and she was pretty darn good at it too. During her younger years she was exceptionally talented at the parallel bars. She also had a passion for classic cars. Debra was a free spirit, and she was always looking for her next adventure. Her family will miss her deeply.
Debra was preceded in death by her father, Robert Frank Dunlap; the father of her children, Floyd Tabor, Jr.; and one niece, Natasha Dunlap.
She is survived by her three children, Joe Tabor and wife Crystal of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Chrystal Tabor; and Zech Tabor, both of Amarillo; her mother, Shirley Dunlap of Amarillo; two brothers, Jim Dunlap and wife Jackie of Tulsa, Oklahoma and John Dunlap of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews.
