Pampa

On December 9, 2024, our beloved father, Delfino DeLeon, 92, passed away surrounded by his family at his home in Pampa.

A celebration of life memorial mass will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Guadalupe Mayorga, pastor, officiating. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory of Pampa.

The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Carmichel-Whatley Colonial Chapel.

Delfino was born on December 23, 1931, in Devine, to Juan and Valentina DeLeon. He had 17 siblings. He grew up in Rocksprings, where he eventually met and married his first wife, Savas Jimenez, in January of 1953. They were married for 42 years before she preceded him in death.

He came to Pampa in 1976, and he found employment with National Auto Salvage, working there for over 38 years before he retired. Delfino would find companionship again when he married his second wife, Gloria. In Delfino's spare time, he liked to watch baseball and spend time with his whole family. He will be remembered as a funny man who passed on his sense of humor to all his family. Delfino will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Valentina DeLeon; a wife, Savas; son-in-law, Alfonso Sandoval; granddaughters, Magdalene DeLeon, and Christina DeLeon; and a great-granddaughter, Bryer Chavez.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his second wife, Gloria DeLeon; his children, Sara and husband Frank, Sandra and husband Emil, Johnny and wife Sue, Sabas and husband Ruben, Cecilia and husband Lorenzo, Estella and husband Chente, Delfino, Ricky and wife Sherri, Alicia, and Jesse and husband Billy; four stepdaughters; one stepson; 25 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; six bonus grandchildren; and his faithful fur baby companion, Chicho.

The family would like to extend appreciation to his caregivers, Eddy Campos, Billy DeLeon, and the Enhabit Hospice nurses for their loving care for Delfino.
