Delma Lee Field, 93, of Pampa passed away on October 26, 2018 in Pampa.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 2, 2018 at Central Baptist Church with Norman Rushing, pastor and Marty Field, Delma’s grandson, officiating. Services are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Field was born November 8, 1924 in Forestburg, Texas to Foy and Ina Satterfield. She graduated from Brisco High School. Delma married Raymond Reece Field on February 24, 1944 in Pampa; he passed away on May 7, 2009. She has lived in Pampa since 1946. Delma worked as secretary for Cabot Corporation for 15 years and then Russell Electric for 18 years before she retired. Volunteering was an important part of her life. Through the years she gave her time to the cub scouts, boys scouts, Pampa Regional Medical Center, Genesis House, and the Suicide Prevention Hotline. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a choir member. In her later years she became a member of Central Baptist Church. Delma enjoyed square dancing, round dancing, riding motorcycles, camping, and traveling. She loved her family and spending time with them. She was known as “Mema” or “Mimi”, depending on what grandchild she was around.
Survivors include her two sons: Garry Field and wife Reta and Lyndon Field and wife Joyce both of Pampa; three grandchildren, Reece Field and wife Karen of Cypress, TX, Darin Field and Angie of Weatherford, TX, and Marty Field and wife Krissy of East Wenatchee, WA; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Elma Smith.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Pregnancy Support Center & Hope House Maternity Home, 210 N. Ward, Pampa, Texas 79065.
