He was born on February 4, 1937, in Gruver, Texas. Dillon was a follower of Christ, first and foremost. He served for over 50 years as a Deacon in his church. After retiring from Pantex, he spent many years as a volunteer chaplain at the prison in Pampa, where he taught the book of John. Dillon was a loving husband and father. He was blessed with two great loves in his life, his first wife Joy Juanice Fergerson, and later in life, after Juanice’s passing, he married Cora Fergerson, both of whom were amazing women. He was a strong, dependable, hardworking man.
Dillon attended Vega High School and went on to have a successful career. He worked for the Texas Highway Department, owned the Shamrock full-service station in Pampa, and later retired from Pantex.
Dillon worshipped at Barrett Baptist Church and then later found his final church home at Central Baptist Church. He found solace and community in his places of worship.
In his free time, Dillon enjoyed watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He also had a passion for collecting antique radios, records, and phonographs. Dillon took great joy in keeping up with his grandchildren and their activities.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Fergerson, his mother, Loretta Shirley, his wives, Juanice Fergerson and Cora Fergerson, and his brothers, David Fergerson and Tommy Dean Fergerson.
Dillon is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Tracy Fergerson, as well as his brother Jim and Jim’s wife Sheri and brother Donald Fergerson. He is also survived by his grandsons, Jaden Fergerson, Kaden Mace, and Kolton Mace, and his granddaughters, Jacy Mace, Maelee Fergerson, and Landri Fergerson.
