Don Lynza Goldsmith, 78, of Pampa, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020.
Family will receive friends on Monday, September 7, 2020 at 964 Terry Rd in Pampa from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Robert Burton, pastor of Yes Lord Amarillo Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Viewing will be held at Sevier’s Funeral Home in Chickasha, Oklahoma from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
Don was born on October 4, 1941 to Joe and Leona Goldsmith in Chickasha, Oklahoma and he was the oldest of three. He grew up on the family farm near Cement, Oklahoma. As a young man he worked at the cheese plant as well as the mobile trailer dealership in Chickasha. He met the love of his life Betty Sue Bagwell on a blind date, and soon after they married on May 19, 1962. They moved to Oklahoma City where they started their family. Don was a very hard worker and provided well for his family. He worked for Cameron Iron Works which uprooted the family from Oklahoma to Pampa, TX in 1969. Years later, Don and Betty owned and operated D&B Equipment until the mid 80’s. He also worked for Bronco out of Elk City, OK, until his retirement in 2013. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed riding ATVs any chance he got.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Sue; and many great friends.
He is survived by brother, Lee Goldsmith and wife Carol of Lewisville, TX; brother, Rex Goldsmith and wife Desi of Cement, OK; son, Steve Goldsmith and wife Kim of White Deer, TX; daughter, Cindy Flaharity and husband Darrell of Pampa, TX; son, Jacky Goldsmith of Pampa, TX; five grandchildren, Stefani Devoll and husband Coy, Kelly Flaharity and wife Nikki, Melyssa Ramos and husband Jacob, Shane Goldsmith and wife Priscilla, and Ryan Goldsmith; 16 great-grandchildren, Triston, Fabian, Bentley, Zaedyn, Kaden, Gentry, Paisley, Tucker, Jaxson, Damian, Daxton, Alina, Kolton, Sebastian, Elias, and soon to be “Jose”.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Mac Martinez, Larry and Wilma Pyle and BSA SICU for all their care.
