Donald C. Philpott

Donald C. Philpott, 83, of Miami, died July 3, 2017 in Pampa.  Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 7, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Rev. Jim Powell, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.  Mr. Philpott was born August 3, 1933 in Pampa. He had been a lifelong resident of Miami, graduating from Miami High School. He married Barbara Loper on November 21, 1953 in Miami. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2007. Donald was a member of First United Methodist Church in Miami. He owned and operated Roberts County Abstract Office for over 30 years. He enjoyed going to Laughlin, Nevada and loved being on his computer and emailing.  Survivors include three daughters, Janice Monds and husband Benny and Ann Pigdon and husband Bryan, all of Pampa, and Sharon Wright of Miami; a brother, Marvin Philpott and wife Shirley of Delaware, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Kint and Helen Philpott; a daughter, Donna Lynn Wright; and a grandson, Jason Dale Wright.  Memorials may be made to the Medical Center League House, 7000 Amarillo Blvd. West, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
