Donna J. Acker

Donna J. Acker, 84, of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in Pampa.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 27, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, and Pat Aderholt, deacon, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Donna was born September 18, 1936 in Pampa to Oliver and Bertie Crossman. She graduated from Pampa High School in the class of 1955. On October 23, 1954, she married Wayland Acker in Tucumcari, New Mexico. He passed away on November 24, 2015 after 61 years of marriage. After Wayland completed boot camp, they moved to Baltimore for a short time before returning to Pampa to run the family farm. Donna was a homemaker and always provided wonderful meals for the workers and her family. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she attended Sunday school and was involved in the church choir. Donna enjoyed working in her yard and keeping it mowed. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and collecting dolls. She loved being "Meme" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved each one dearly.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents and by 2 sisters, Lois Reed and Dutchie Burns.

Survivors include her daughter, Trinidee Acker Kremer and husband Doug of League City; son, Greg Acker and wife Lisa of Pampa; grandson, Kristopher Jones and wife Abby of Artesia, New Mexico; 3 granddaughters, Lauren Newman and husband Clayton of Lubbock, Haley Kuhn and husband Dustin and Hilary Acker, all of Pampa; 5 great grandsons, Cayden Joy, Coby Joy, Cal Kuhn, Ollie Kuhn, and James Newman; niece, Sandy Burns of Pampa; and a nephew, Danny Reed of Canadian.
