Donna Carol Germany Cofer

Donna Carol Germany Cofer, 84, of Pampa, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2022 at her home.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Carol was born on January 23, 1938 in Breckenridge, Texas to Robert and Connie Mae Mullins Germany. At age 5, her family moved from Breckenridge to Burkburnett and attended schools there until her sophomore year. The family was transferred to Skellytown, and she attended school in White Deer, graduating in 1956. After high school, she started working at Citizens Bank and Trust while taking night classes at Frank Phillips College and The American Institute of Banking.

Carol received a letter from a Navy Seaman, Bill Cofer, that she had met on a blind date previously. This led to a beautiful marriage on Thanksgiving Day in 1957 and lasted 65 years. Bill went to work for Cabot Corporation and that is when the fun began. They lived in a lot of different places such as Kermit, Beaver, Oklahoma, Franklin, Louisiana, and Pampa being their final destination. While moving around, Carol worked various jobs such as Department of Agriculture, Geological Survey, Jessie Odom Construction, and finally Cabot Varco, retiring after 25 years. All while they were working, they made time to travel to Hawaii, take a cruise to Alaska, drove to Mexico City, toured England, France, Belgium, and all over the US. They loved spending time together.

Carol was very active with her involvement in the community, serving on board at Pampa Youth and Community Center, The Business and Professional Women’s Sunday School Class, was a member of the Desk and Derrick Club, 20th Century Club, Opti-mrs., and worked on the United Way Campaign.

She was preceded by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Cofer of the home; a brother, Mike Germany and wife Linda of White Deer; two nephews, Keith Germany and Brian Germany; four nieces, Jennifer Gambrel, Lana Vencil and husband Clark, LaDonna Ramming, and Regina Linder and husband Larry.
