Doris Jean Miller Puckett, 79, of Pampa, died October 1, 2017 in Amarillo. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Jim Sinyard, pastor of Carpenter’s Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Puckett was born April 23, 1938 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She lived in Pampa and White Deer most of her life. Doris married Elvis Lee Miller on April 28, 1956 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1982. She later married Dan Puckett on December 19, 1998 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2008. Doris was a member of Carpenter’s Church. She loved spending time with her family and she was proud of her Choctaw Indian heritage. Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Sugar Whiteley and husband Gary of Amarillo, and Mary Clark and husband Layne of Pampa; three sons, Clay Miller and wife Libby of Burleson, Mark Miller, and Marland Miller and wife Lynn, all of Pampa; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, seven sisters, and a great granddaughter, Mickala Lee-Hill Miller. Memorials may be made to Carpenter’s Church, PO Box 1476, Pampa, Texas 79066-1476.
