Doris Graham Robbins, 91, of Pampa, passed away on August 30, 2023 in The Villages, Florida.
Services will be 10:00 AM, September 12, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Beam, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Doris was born in Oklahoma on January 9, 1932. She has been a resident of Pampa for 89 years, graduating from Pampa High School in 1950. She was a licensed pilot and worked at Perry Lefors Airport in the 50’s. Doris married Dale Robbins on April 2, 1966 in Pampa, he passed away January 12, 2010. Doris and Dale owned and operated the Black Gold Motel and Restaurant in the 60’s and The Rock Shop in the 70’s and 80’s. They loved to sell crafts and cook frosted nuts at craft shows. Both of them enjoyed painting in oil and watercolors. They also loved to travel together and mining for gold and turquoise in Colorado. The two of them drove their motorhome to Alaska twice and enjoyed every mile together.
Doris was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 71 years, where she taught Sunday School, VBS, and served on many committees. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary with Post 1657, a member of the Freedom Museum, and Moose Lodge. Doris was a Real Estate agent and a legal secretary for 68 years and she retired from the Gray County Attorney’s Office after 32 years. Doris loved her family dearly and will be missed. She was the “Monarch” of the family……IYKYK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Jessie Graham; brother, Robert Graham; son-in-law, Tex Alexander; and step-son, Mike Robbins.
Survivors include her children, Bill Robbins and wife Allyson of Scotland, Donna Brown and husband Jim of Florida, Kathy Cota and husband Harold of Texas, and Carol Alexander of Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, Shana Dees, Danya Kraft, Trey Alexander, Leslie Girdner, Valerie Brown, Misty Alvey, Michael Cota, Ashley Patterson, Ryan Robbins, and Gerald Dees, Jr.; 24 great grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren.
