Doris Helen Adams Wood

Doris Helen Adams Wood, 87, of Pampa, passed away on November 24, 2024, in Amarillo.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Minister Ron Fernuik officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Doris was born on October 31, 1937, in Happy, to Johnny and Ruth Mann. She attended Pampa High School. Doris married Charles Reeves in 1952, and they had three sons Steve, John, and Bruce. In 1968, Doris married R. L. Adams until his passing in 2000, and they had one daughter, Julie. She married Bob Wood in 2010, and he preceded her in death in 2019. 

Doris was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to garden and canned her own food. Doris loved her family fiercely, lived for her children, and she would do anything for her family, and worked very hard to take care of them. 

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Ruth Mann; husbands, R. L. Adams, and Bob Wood; and by a son, Bruce Adams. 

Survivors include daughter, Julie Beth Adams Lang; sons, Steve Reeves and wife Mechelle, and John “Chuck” Reeves and wife Lynda; grandsons, Steven Reeves Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Alex Reeves, and Mason Lang and wife Gracie; three great grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Flowers and Cora Diamond.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Tabitha Shirley, Clarissa Smith, and Interim Hospice for caring for Doris.
