Dorothy Ann Henderson

Dorothy Ann Henderson, 92, of Pampa, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, in Pampa.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church, and Rev. Zack Greer, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Henderson was born Oct. 16, 1927 in Wheeler County near Lela to L. W. and Annie Blake Purcell. She attended Shamrock schools and graduated from Shamrock High School. Dorothy married George P. Henderson, Jr. on Nov. 27, 1947 in Shamrock. He preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2014.

Dorothy had been a resident of Pampa since 1947. She was an Avon representative for several years and later became an area manager for a few years. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school in the primary department for many years and was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Sunday School Class for several years.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and by eleven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Jan Stroud and husband Jim, of Pampa; two granddaughters, Angie Martindale and Robin Keough and husband Jimmy of Pampa; four great grandsons, Rhett Skinner and wife Sanya, Casey Martindale and wife Jaycee, J. T. Skinner, and Logan Martindale, all of Pampa; and a great great grandson, Wyatt Martindale, of Pampa.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Monday at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
