Doug Robert McGinley of McLean and formerly of Pampa, passed away, December 12, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Celebration of life memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Bob Hudson, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. Doug’s service will be livestreamed through the funeral home’s website.
Doug will be available for viewing from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Thursday and up until his service on Friday.
Doug was born on July 23, 1962, to Lavena and Wesley McGinley in Pampa. He attended school and graduated from Pampa High School. After graduation, Doug entered the Oil & Gas industry working for Hudson Drilling as a driller and a foreman. A career that he retired with over 30 years of service. Doug was an active man who like the outdoors and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and BBQing. Doug loved his Dallas Cowboys and he enjoyed collecting copper and hubcaps. But spending time with his family brought him the most joy and he looked forward to his Wednesday & Saturday lunch with his sister, Marsha and his favorite places to eat were the Plaza and Dyers BBQ. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Kate Day; a sister, Kathy McGinley.
His survivors include three sisters, Marsha Davila of Mclean, Jo Lacher of Mesa, AZ, and Tracy Gernhardt and husband Tim of Jacksonville, NC; two nieces, Sonya Davila of Amarillo and Brandi Lacher of Mesa, AZ; one nephew, Briar Gernhardt and wife Hope of Jacksonville, NC; two great nieces, Samantha Ferguson and Katlyn Ferguson; two great nephews, Champion Blythe and Justin Forester; an aunt, Doris Been of Pampa; his beloved dog, Pickles; and numerous cousins and other extended family.
