Earl Brown

November 2, 1938 — April 6, 2018

Earl Brown, 79, of Amarillo and formerly of Pampa, passed away, Friday, April 6, 2018 in Amarillo.

Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum of Pampa, with, Chaplain Ken Haney of Interim Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors courtesy of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Pampa. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Mr. Brown was born on November 2, 1938 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Rosie and James T. Brown. As a young boy his family moved to Pampa where Earl would start attending school. After high school, Mr. Brown enlisted in the U.S. National Guard where served for several years. Earl worked in the construction business as a welder for many years. Mr. Brown was a proud and longtime member of the Moose Lodge. Earl was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. When he wasn’t working, Earl knew the value of a good time where he liked throwing darts and enjoying a cold Budweiser beer. Earl was a dedicated and faithful wrestling fan. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and he will be greatly missed by all.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; by his son, Michael Brown; his grandson, Jerry Merrill Pierce II; by his four sisters, Bobby Jean Howeth, Ruby C. King, Vester Brown and Hester Brown; and by his two brothers, James B. Brown and Harvey R. Brown

Survivors include his two daughters, Angie Brown and Annette Fernandez and husband Johny, all of Amarillo; by two sisters, Earlene Phelps and husband Ryland of Amarillo and Ellen Stauffer of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; his three granddaughters, Amanda Brown, Savanah Pierce, and Ashley Graves, all of Amarillo; his five grandsons, Kelly Dean Brown and fiancée, Carrington Jones of Amarillo, Keigan Pettit of Mid-West City, Oklahoma, and Zach Graves and wife Briana of Tyler, Johny Fernandez and Jason Fernandez, both of Amarillo; by his eight great-grandchildren, Annalisa, Zaria, Ethan, Oaklee, Aylah, Karson, Carson, Avyrn, a great-grandchild that’s on the way, Karter Pettit; and by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, and by his beloved dog, Trace Baby
