Earl Henry

April 5, 1929 — April 21, 2020

Earl Henry, 91, of Pampa passed into the presence of the Lord April 21, 2020 in Lubbock. He was born to Lawrence and Lois Henry on April 5, 1929 in Merkel. He was raised in Llano before eventually moving to Pampa.

Viewing for Earl is scheduled for Thursday, April 23 from 1:00-8:00 PM and Friday, April 24 from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM.

Due to the current community regulations regarding large gatherings, a private family service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Clinton Henry, his son, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Earl was a dedicated father who made sure to take his boys fishing and camping as they were growing up. They both have fond memories of the Cimarron Canyon in north east New Mexico where they enjoyed vacations together with Earl and his wife Nancy.

Earl was an auto mechanic who worked for Culberson-Stowers Chevrolet for 18 years before starting his own business, Earl Henry’s Bear Wheel Alignment service in Pampa. He served the community for 38 years taking care of loyal customers who knew him as a mechanic and friend.

As a veteran of the Korean Conflict, Earl made great sacrifices to serve his country. There he learned the value of honor and freedom…and more importantly human life. He would forever be impacted by his tour of duty.

Not too many years ago, Earl made his peace with God, placing his faith in Jesus Christ. This gives us comfort today while at the same time hope for a future reunion with all who look to Christ as Lord and Savior.

He is preceded in death by his wife Nancy and a sister Joyce of Llano.

Earl is survived by two sons, Clinton Henry and wife Jeannette of Meridian, Idaho and Curtiss Henry and wife Mary of Pampa; five granddaughters and one grandson, Kristen, Kimberly, and Kara of Nampa, Idaho, Kinsey of Boise, Idaho, Kelsey of Pampa and Allen of Amarillo. Earl is blessed to have eight great granddaughters all of whom live in Idaho; and a brother Bill Henry of Sherman.
