Earlene Hoffer, 84, of Miami and recently Amarillo, passed away November 10, 2021 in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Miami Cemetery in Miami, TX with Shawn Davis her nephew, eulogizing her service. Arrangements and burial are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Earlene was born on May 18, 1937 in Canadian to Ella and Clark Carr. She grew up and graduated high school in Canadian. Shortly after high school, she met Lawton Hoffer at a dance, and they would later marry on June 7, 1956, in Miami. Earlene and Lawton made their home in Miami, raised two children, and shared 40 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1996. Earlene was a member of the Church of Christ in Laketon. She was a homemaker, and she took pride in raising her children and caring for family. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Earlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Scott Hoffer; 2 sisters, Erma Hedgecoke and Betty Davis; four brothers, Elbie Carr, Carroll Carr, Jerry Carr, and Tommy Carr.
Her survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Rider and husband Jarred of Oklahoma City, OK; a granddaughter, Rachel Stevens and husband Joe of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters, Shirley Pitman of Pampa and Mary Cox of Miami; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
