Edna Faye O’Neal, 93, of Pampa, passed away on November 1, 2017 in Pampa with her daughters by her side. Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 6, 2017, at Briarwood Church, with Pastor Johnny Plum, of Grace Refuge in Bristow, Oklahoma, and Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. O’Neal was born August 18, 1924 in Shamrock, the only child of Melissa Turnbow Sullivan and John L. Sullivan. She was raised in Clovis, New Mexico until the death of her father when she was 14 years old. Edna and her mother then moved back to Shamrock where she attended and graduated from Shamrock High School. She enjoyed a very close relationship with her aunts, uncles and cousins there, and was a lifelong member of the Advent Christian Church. In July of 1946, Edna Faye Sullivan and Earl LeMoyne O’Neal were married at Lela. They made their home in Pampa and then became the parents of three daughters, Deborah, Kathy and Rebecca. Edna was a homemaker while her husband was a pharmacist. When her children were older, she worked at Marie Foundations. After Mr. O’Neal died in 1983, she worked at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church School and later First Baptist Church Day Care where she enjoyed a lengthy and fulfilling employment. Edna’s interests included family, sewing, cooking for her family and friends, reading the Bible and attending church. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her mother, and later as an often-times babysitter for her nine grandchildren. Survivors include her three daughters, Deborah Bailey and husband John of Pampa, Kathy Johnson and husband Tim of Pampa, and Rebecca Chisum and husband Ronald of Amarillo; nine grandsons, Matt Bailey and wife Alisha of Pampa, Mark Bailey and wife Luzann of Pampa, Luke Bailey and wife Jennifer of Amarillo, Josh Parsons and wife Tosha of Amarillo, Jarrett Parsons and wife Summer of Pampa, Patrick Parsons and wife Kayla of Amarillo, Seth Lewis and wife Tiffany of Pampa, Jacob Lewis of Amarillo, and Christopher Lewis and wife Gina of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Hollie Parsons of McLean; 19 great grandchildren, Tate, Logan, Ethan, Lane, Jarron, Shane, Sadie, Jordan, Jadyn, Courtney, Cash, Addison, Kinsley, Reece, Charlotte, Ella, Lilly, Lara, and Sascha. Edna was also preceded in death by her parents, and a son-in-law, John Lewis. The family will gather at 2520 Aspen Drive in Pampa.
