Elvie Knoxine Cotham, 87, of Lubbock, and formerly of Pampa, passed away May 29, 2020 in Lubbock.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Knoxine was born on April 20, 1933 in Collingsworth County to Maude and Oral Russell. As a young girl her family moved to Pampa where she later attended school and lived ever since. After high school, she entered the work force where she worked in various companies and filling many different roles. Knoxine’s career included time with the Texas Railroad Commission, Curtis Well Service, and then later Chase Oil Field Services for many years. Mrs. Cotham would find love later in life when she met Carl Cotham and they later married in Las Vegas on March 7, 1979. They spent several good years before he preceded her in death in 2003.
Mrs. Cotham was active in the Desk and Derrick club in Pampa and she also served and volunteered for years at the Pampa Senior Citizens. Knoxine also enjoyed painting and working with China Painting ceramics and loved being part of her China Painting club. Knoxine was a member of First Baptist Church of Pampa for many years. She will be remembered as loving wife, sister, cousin, and friend and she will be greatly missed.
Her survivors include her brother, Don Russell of Pampa; two cousins, Mike Tice and wife Mamie of North Richland Hills and Perry Tice and wife Jan of Aurora, Colorado; and numerous other cousins, and extended family.
