Erasmo Renteria-Soto, 56, of Pampa, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Eastland, Texas.
Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Luis Lopez, officiating.
Liturgy of the Word will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Luis Lopez, officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Durango, Mexico. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Erasmo was born on November 21, 1965, in Durango, Mexico, to Victor and Alicia Renteria. He attended school there in Durango. When Erasmo was a little older, he moved to Chicago, Illinois. There he worked for Warner, manufacturing ladders. In 1988, he met Natasha Alvarez. The couple had six children together, five of them being born in Chicago. The family moved to Pampa in 1995, where they gave birth to their youngest daughter. In Pampa, Erasmo worked in the oilfield, drilling for IPP, Curtis Well Service, and Unit Drilling. In 2016, he started working for IEA Construction, and was currently working for the company until his passing.
Erasmo had many hobbies that he enjoyed. He loved playing and watching basketball, especially the Chicago Bulls. He liked to ride horses and cruise around town in his truck. He also loved his music and would often cook meals for the entire family. Erasmo will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Erasmo is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Victor Renteria and Hector Renteria.
He is survived by his wife, Natasha Alvarez of the home; six children, Erica Renteria, Michael Renteria, Victor Renteria and wife Gissel, Jose Renteria, Selena Renteria, and Vertalicia Renteria, all of Pampa; 14 grandchildren, Ismael Perez, Isaac Perez, Andrew Renteria, Alex Renteria, Aaliyah Renteria, Avian Renteria, Santos Rivera, Maria Renteria, Adrianne Renteria, Sergio Camacho, Jr., Victor Julian Renteria, Christopher Elias Renteria, Preston Beesley, and Paislee Renteria; one brother, Alfredo Renteria; and three sisters, Maria Renteria, Victorina Renteria, and Aleja Gonzalez.
