Eva “Darlene” Eads (MeMo), 76, of Pampa, was born July 6, 1948 in Canadian, Texas, to Carl Thomas and Eva Marie Hornback. She was welcomed into her Lord and Savior’s arms on February 27, 2025 in Pampa.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM March 4, 2025 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Jim Sinyard officiating and assisted by Austin Hayden. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, Texas.
Darlene attended school in Canadian. She worked for Dr. Joe M. Pieratt D.D.S. for 42 years in Pampa. She was a bookkeeper for Brandon’s Flowers and Dr. Black for several years. Darlene also worked numerous waitress jobs throughout her lifetime including, Dyers BBQ. Anyone who truly knew Darlene knew she liked coffee fresh. She wanted it hot and she wanted it now; she was not afraid to tell someone if it was a degree too cold or a minute too old.
She never passed up the opportunity to see George Strait. She never missed a band event or basketball game and made sure to attend all of Elliot and Wyatt’s school functions.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Eva Hornback; daughter, Rhonda Renee Hornback; two sisters, Helen Cook and Rosemary Wisdom; and brothers, Charles Ray and Carl Thomas Jr.; daughter-in-law, Billie Jo Cross, and MOST importantly, her poodle, Tanner, who trumped both boys.
She is survived by her spouse, Bill Branscum of the home; brother, Joe Hornback and wife Joyce of Ardmore, Oklahoma; two sons, Robert Hornback and wife Shari of Azle, Texas, and Will Cross of south Texas; daughter-in-law, Donna Satterwhite of Shattuck, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Mandy Meschke and husband Evan of Pampa, Rhonda Petino and husband Paden of Mineral Wells, Texas, Justin Hornback of Detroit, Michigan, Logan Klentz of North Zulch, Texas; great-grandson, Elliott Don Meschke; great-granddaughter, Wyatt Sage Meschke of Pampa, and numerous nieces and nephews, and her special friends, Ginger Hancock Boyd, Freddie Beavers, and Debbie Douglas.
Her greatest accomplishment in life was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She did not pass on an opportunity to spend time with any of them and wouldn’t have had it any other way. She got to keep the great grandbabies any time Mandy needed.
The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to Enhabit Home Health and Hospice, Yolanda, Emily, Sarah, and Debbie Douglas.
Any memorials can be made to the Texas Oncology in her memory.
