Myrtle Evelyn Hext, 98 of Pampa passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2018 in Pampa.
A Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Mike Borger of Trinity Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Alanreed Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Evelyn was born December 24, 1919 in Petrolia to Rufus and Evelyn Hill. She married Othel Hext in 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1995. Evelyn was an antique dealer, a cook at First Baptist Church and a homemaker. She loved going to auctions, estate sales, and garage sales with her niece Geraldine Hurdle. Evelyn had a booth at Trash and Treasure for several years. She could tell you the value of almost any antique she saw. She was a member at Central Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by a son, Russell Hext; two infant daughters; three brothers, Russell, Lenox and Clarence; and three sisters, Maxine, Thelma, and Louise.
Survivors include a son, Derrel Hext of Pampa; three grandsons, David Hext and wife Stacy and Cody Hext all of Pampa, Coby Lynn Hext of Midland; three granddaughters, Stephanie Hext of Pampa, Shelby Brown of Midland, and Chassey Oxley of Pampa; and six great grandchildren, Makiya Mears, Damian, Davin and Kaybree Hext, Kaiden and Keegan Brown; her niece, Geraldine Hurdle of Pampa.
