Evelyn Reger, 88, of Pampa, died July 14, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Reger was born January 22, 1929 in Gainesville to Elmer and Dillie Wheeler. She has lived in Pampa since 1948. Evelyn married Wilburn Earl Reger on September 28, 1943 in Hollis, OK; he preceded her in death in 2001. She was an LVN for 35 years working at Highland General and Pampa Regional Medical Center. She loved embroidering and crocheting, going camping, volunteering at Good Samaritan Christian Services, and always had a cookie jar full of chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren. Evelyn loved her family dearly and loved being “Granny Gum’ to so many. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Miller; a son Wilburn Reger; 2 brothers and 3 sisters; a grandson and a great granddaughter. Survivors include two daughters, Earlene Mendenhall and husband Royal of Perry, OK, and Mary Fulton and husband Neil of Pampa; a son-in-law, Gene Miller of Pampa; 8 grandchildren, Roy Mendenhall and wife Stephanie of Oklahoma city, OK, Evelyn Shay and husband Rusty of Ripley, OK, David Mendenhall and wife Susan of Perry, OK, Tommy Parks and wife Tricia, Gary Parks and wife Kristi, and Karl Parks and wife Stephanie all of Pampa, Brandi Grimland and husband Eric of Amarillo, and Michael Bledsoe of Denton; 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
