Frank Gonzalez Hernandez, 94 of Pampa, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his home in Pampa.
Funeral Mass will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 19, 2018 at St Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Frank was born on October 10, 1924 to Baltzar and Maria Hernandez in Lubbock. Early on, he and his brother delivered the Pampa News through rain, sleet and snow. In 1943, Frank Joined the U.S. Army serving in WWII until his honorable discharge in 1945. He married Dortha Rasco on August 18, 1962 in Pampa. She preceded him in death in 2000. Frank was a sheet metal worker for Malcolm Hinkle Refrigeration Service for 38 years, retiring in 1996. He loved reading western and war novels, watching Turner classic movies and the Dallas Cowboys and building model airplanes. Frank was a member of St Vincent dePaul Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Hernandez of Garland and Gayle Hodges of Palm Springs, CA; a son, Toby Hernandez of Pampa; four brothers, Raymond Hernandez of Pampa, Tony Hernandez of Amarillo, Joe Hernandez and wife Ebelen of Ft. Worth, and Joaquin Hernandez of Seattle, WA; seven sisters, Mary Ellen Rodriguez and husband Butch of Pampa, Becky Erickson and husband Al of Oklahoma City, OK, Elizabeth Hernandez of California, Lucy Cobb of Houston, Jackie Baker of Odessa, Peggy McBride and Kay Rasco both of Louisiana; 3 grandsons, Keven Hernandez of Amarillo, Rollo Page and wife Jenny of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Chase Adams of Garland, one granddaughter, Kebbie Adams of Garland.
