Frank Rabel, 84, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and formerly of Pampa, passed away at home with his family by his side on August 27, 2024.
Celebration of life memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ with Keith Feerer of the Church of Christ of Logan, New Mexico, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Frank was born on July 20, 1940, in Jarrell, Texas to Henry and Annie Rabel. Frank and his family moved to a few places in his early childhood that included Granger and Bartlett, Texas and where he later graduated from high school in 1959. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he faithfully served his country.
In 1966, he married Vicke Ann Hardin of Irving, Texas and they shared 30 years of marriage before she preceded him in death in 1996. Frank worked in several different industries throughout his lifetime. He was employed with Texas Instruments for a few years, and then had a long career with Celanese as a supervisor for over 28 years before his retirement. Soon after his departure from Celanese, he served with the Panhandle Community Services as a medical driver for eight years.
Frank found companionship and love again when he met Linda Maynard Weatherbee and they married on April 1, 2006, with Dan Powell, officiating.They spent almost 19 years together and they blended two beautiful families before his passing. In his spare time, Frank loved old cars & trucks, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a wife; four brothers, Joe Rabel, Jerry Rabel, Henry Rabel, and Raymond Rabel.
Survived by his wife Linda Rabel of the home; daughter, Julie Rabel; sons, Russ & Leslie Rabel, and Scott Rabel, all of Dallas; stepsons, Kelly &Tae Zeek of Hawaii, Jason & Amanda Weatherbee of Rockwall, and Kerry Zeek of Borger; stepdaughter, Shelli Connick of Cache; grandchildren, Tyler & Maddie Rabel, Lexton & Ashley Rabel, Mace Rabel, Kelton Cruz, Connor Weatherbee, Emma Weatherbee, Dustyn Graham, Brittney Harold, Emilee Foster, Dakota Connick, Elizabeth Connick, Lilee Connick, Gage Zeek, Travus Zeek, Joryn Manley, Kirstyn Zeek, Brielynn Zeek, Maegyn Zeek, Kellyn Zeek, and Madison Segundo; including many great grandchildren, Paisley Dyer, Annie Rabel, and Nora Rabel.
