Geneva C. Michael, 89, of Pampa went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Pampa.
Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 16, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Parnell, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Michael was born September 5, 1928 in Woodward, OK to Lester and Edith Covalt. She moved to Pampa in 1941 and graduated from Pampa High School in 1946. After graduation she began working as a secretary for Ethridge Claims Service for 11 years. Geneva married Dan Michael on June 15, 1957 in Pampa; they recently celebrated 61 years of marriage. She loved being a homemaker and staying home to raise their three girls. In 1977, she received her real estate license and began her career with DeLoma Realtors for 5 years. Later she received her broker’s license. In the early 80’s she was recognized for the largest sale in Pampa at that time. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she served on the counting committee and secretary for her Sunday school classes. Over the years, she prepared and helped serve numerous bereavement meals. She was always willing to help wherever she was needed.
Geneva enjoyed sewing, music, cooking, gardening, and taking care of their home. She was active at the Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed playing bridge. For many years she has been involved and faithful to the Twentieth Century Culture Club. Geneva was lovingly devoted to supporting Dan and his careers at The Spudnut Shop and as an Independent Consulting Geologist She loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Euleta Covalt Corbin; granddaughter, Casey Shakespeare; and great grandson, Noah Shakespeare.
Survivors include her husband, Dan Michael of the home; three daughters, Leslie M. Schafer and husband Glenn of Pampa, Susan M. Shakespeare and husband Hoy of Lubbock, and Lisa M. Acker and husband Greg of Pampa; brother, Ray Covalt and wife Jan of Pampa; six grandchildren, Anna Richardson and husband Tanner and Lauren Newman and husband Clayton all of Lubbock, Garnett Schafer and wife Audrey of Amarillo, Andy M. Shakespeare and wife Liesl of Temple, Haley Kuhn and husband Dustin and Hilary Acker all of Pampa; and 8 great grandchildren.

The family will have a visitation Sunday from 1:00-2:30PM at the funeral home.
