Gisele LaVon Hays

March 11, 1956 — January 8, 2025

Borger

Gisele Lavon Hays “Gigi” 68, of Borger, TX walked into the arms of Jesus on January 8, 2025, in Amarillo.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, TX, with her cousin, Tom Hudson, of McPherson, KS, officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Gisele was born on March 11th, 1956, to Ruth and Shorty Hudson in Larned, KS. She spent most of her younger years in Pampa, TX. After graduating from Pampa High School in 1974, she met the love of her life, Barry Ward Hays, of Borger, at West Texas State University. They married on January 14, 1975. 50 years of marriage! They have 3 beautiful children Jessica, Jason and Evan.

Gisele made an impact on every person she interacted with. She was courageous, inspirational, kind, loving and full of joy. She loved dragonflies, her dogs and cats, crocheting, baking with her grandchildren and watching her beloved birds. Despite her health declining in the past few years, she always put others first and made sure her family was safe and ok. She was quirky and so much fun to talk to. She was convinced Bigfoot existed and loved her gnomes in which she had quite a collection. You might even catch her playing a game of Mario’s World or Donkey Kong and she loved to watch hockey. There will be no one else like our beloved Gigi. She was the heart of our family and although she is gone, she is at peace and resting in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Gisele was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Pauline Hudson; her father, E.L.”Shorty” Hudson; her Nano, Clara Reed; her grandfather, Paul Reed; and her Grandma Bitha Hudson, all of whom welcomed her into heaven with loving arms.

She is survived by her loving husband, Barry Hays of the home; her brother, Dusty Hudson; three children, Jessica Washer, Jason Hays and his wife, Lauren Hays, Evan Hays and girlfriend Heather Knox; niece, Marissa Biven and her husband, David Biven and their daughter Hazel B; she had three grandchildren that were her world, Bryn Hays, Annie Washer and Bret Hays.

Her Kansas family always held a special place in her heart also; “Rock Chalk”! Psalms 91:4: “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Gisele was excited to meet the Lord and experience his mighty glory and certainly feel his warm embrace and protection when she entered the gates of heaven. She will be dearly missed, and we will see her again.
