On July 16, 2018, Gladys Imogene Simpson of Pampa passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served most of her 101 years.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Dale Meadows, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
Gladys Imogene was born in Lelia Lake in Donley County on June 2, 1917. She and Oren were married August 10, 1937. Because of his work, they moved all over Texas. They moved to Pampa, Texas with their three children in 1952, where they resided until their death.
She was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church for many years where she taught Sunday school. She touched so many lives in her 101 years. Children always had a special place in her heart. She cared for many of Pampa's children through the years.
Coronado Nursing and Rehab has been home for the past 7 years; where she was loved and will be missed by her family, friends and Pampa has lost a precious treasure.
Gladys Imogene was reunited with her husband of 63 years; Oren [Bud] Simpson, who passed away in 2000.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Maude Robison; six sisters, two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her son, Bill Simpson, of Arlington; by her two daughters, Margaret Inmon, of Pampa and by Wanda Deering and husband, Wayne, of Surf Side Beach, South Carolina; by her seven grandchildren and their spouses; by fifteen great-grandchildren and spouses; and by eight great-great-grandchildren; and by a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6:30- 7:30PM at the funeral home.
