Gloria Casey, 96, of Lubbock, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Lubbock.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady (Raj), officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Gloria was born on August 12, 1927 in Midian, Kansas to George and Jessie Beymer Junkins. She was raised in El Dorado, Kansas and was a 1945 graduate of El Dorado High School. Gloria married Charles Robert “Bob” Casey on May 1, 1947 in El Dorado. In 1949, Gloria and Bob moved to Pampa. Gloria worked part time at Sands Fabric Store for several years. She was a longtime member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Gloria was a Gold Life Master duplicate bridge player. She competed all over the panhandle and enjoyed spending time with her friends. Gloria also enjoyed going to Colorado and camping. She loved cooking and baking, but nothing more than family. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Casey; her parents, George and Jessie Junkins; one son, Joseph Casey; and brother, Roy Junkins.
Gloria is survived by her four children, Barbara Gilley of Lubbock, Jim Casey and wife Debra of Placitas, New Mexico, Dan Casey of Lubbock, and Theresa Bowman and husband Monty of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Amber Munguia, Brook Bowman, Robert Gilley, Mark Gilley, Jennifer Casey, and Vince Casey; and seven great-grandchildren.
