Glynnda Leatherman, 76, of Canyon, passed away, Thursday, June 11, 2020 in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Mobeetie Cemetery with Chaplain Larry Virnau with Texas Home Health and Hospice, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Leatherman was born May 1, 1944 in Wheeler to Jingles and Wilber Beck. She graduated from Mobeetie High School in 1962. Glynnda married Wayne A. “Butch” Leatherman, Sr. on July 15, 1966 in Roswell, New Mexico. She spent time working in restaurants, as a car hop and a caretaker with home health agencies. Glynnda’s most important job was being a wife, mother, and Nana. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mobeetie.
Glynnda was preceded in death by a daughter Michelle Leatherman in 1968.
Survivors include her husband Wayne A. “Butch” Leatherman of Amarillo; two sons, Allen “Beau” Leatherman and wife Tonya of Canyon and Chris “Pistol” Leatherman and wife Wanda of Glenpool, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Megan Mills of Canyon and Taylor Harp of Glenpool, Oklahoma; and two great granddaughters, Paisley Harp and Hadley Mills.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Mobeetie, PO Box 7, Mobeetie, TX 79061.
