Harold Ellison

April 25, 1939 — March 8, 2018

Harold Ellison, 78, of Pampa, passed away March 8, 2018 in Pampa. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, March 16, 2018 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Tom E. Jones, Jr. of Langston Church of God in Christ of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, with military honors courtesy of Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Ellison was born on April 25, 1939 in Wellington to Bertha and Robert Ellison. Harold spent his youth and attended school in Shamrock. After high school, he enrolled in College and later he would enlist in the U.S. Army and later being honorably discharged. Harold was previously married to his former wife and mother of his children Lee Ethel before meeting the love of his life Linda Davis in Mangum, Oklahoma. Later they would wed in Vernon. Harold would relocate to Pampa where he would work as a machinist for Ingersoll Rand and later at National Oilwell where he would eventually retire. He was a member of Open Door Church of God in Christ. Harold liked to play dominos and socialize at the Brother’s Club and the VFW. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; by two sons, James Ellison and Christopher Davis; by his two daughters, Felinda Ellison and Valinda Davis; by four brothers, Joe Eddy Ellison, Robert Ellison, Jr, Royce Ellis and Arte Neal Ellis. Harold is survived by his wife, Linda Ellison of the home, by his three sons, Harold Ellison, Jr. of Sacramento, California, David Ellison of Pampa, and by Bryson Conley of Hawaii; his daughter, Jeanette Ellison of Ft. Worth; step-daughter, Merial Pratt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a brother, Paul Ellison of Denver, Colorado; and by his sister, Jeweline Williams, also of Denver, Colorado; by 18 grandchildren and by 7 great-grandchildren; three special friends, Bennie Samuel, Ronny Proby, and by Joe Tillmon and host of nephews, nieces, and other friends.
